Victory Again

I guess my good days have begun! Prepared as I was, the results seem deserving. But, it was quite tough. Few of the questions required more than computing intelligence and some where really confusing. I am glad that I came out with no more than 3 mistakes even though there's room for a lot of improvement.

Calculating marks:-

Quiz - 15%
ISAS - 10%
MT1 - 25%
MT2 - 25%
MT3 - 25%

Recalculating:-
15/100 * 76 -> 11.4
10/100 * 85 -> 8.5
25/100 * 82 -> 20.5
25/100 * 89 -> 22.25
-------------------
Aggregate = 83.53
Maximum that I can get this semester -> 87.65

My target of 85% would require 92% in MT3. I'll try hard for that one.

All preparations done

Thats about it! I am done with the revisions. Saugat got 57% and Anish secured 77%. From what shaggy told it seems the questions weren't too tough, but they were tricky. I've got to keep my cool and give the exam at my fullest. Hopefully, the efforts will payoff...

Few hours to go.

MT2's lurking in the horizon, preparation's good but the course is really mind boggling. The practice test results haven't been encouraging. But, I have completed 98% of the syllabus. Luck permitting I should be able to score in the nineties. That should be like getting two answers wrong.

This'll be really tough. I hope our efforts pay off.

Module Test 2

This'll be really tough! The length of the syllabus is more or less the same, but the complexity is much higher. However, having previous experience in C++ should be an incentive. I am well prepared, just got to recapitulate on the SQL part and wrap things up with practice tests. Its a very good opportunity to score the perfect 100, something that has always eluded me.

Due to addition of C# into our curriculum, the poor show in the quiz can be easily overshadowed. The new scheme is as follows:-
Quiz - 15%
ISAS - 10%
MT1 - 25%
MT2 - 25%
MT3 - 25%

Recalculating:-
15/100 * 76 -> 11.4
10/100 * 85 -> 8.5
25/100 * 82 -> 20.5
-------------------
Aggregate = 80.8

Maximum that I can get this semester -> 90.4

Previous aim of 85% is within reach, provided I score in the mid nineties in the next two exams.

Gotta study SQL now..

ISAS Results are out

ISAS results are out and I got a whooping 85%. 4 less than the highest and 1 than the second highest.

Calculating my Semester marks:-

76% in Quiz
85% in ISAS
82% in Module Test 1

Average = 81 %

Adding Percentage wise to the Semester scorecard:-

30% of 76 in Quiz -> 22.8
10% of 85 in ISAS -> 8.5
30% of 82 in Module Test 1 -> 24.6

Aggregate = 79.86%

Maximum that I can get in this semester: 85.9

I gotta try to secure 85%. Its possible but quite difficult. Lets see.

Efforts pay off

It was a fitting finish to a week's work with me topping the charts this time, after failing to do so in the previous Quiz. Well, the results were worth it, considering the fact that I had to stop the development of Pika Bot during the period. I also learned that honesty is the best policy with me not opting to ask from anyone. What I feel is that by cheating in the exam, one is doing injustice to the ones, who work hard and study their a** off. Thats why I do not resort to cheating, thats why my results were so poor in the HS (or maybe not). Anyways, I don't think I can make everyone understand this statement, for it may seem like a 'Gandhian' philosophy.

Wrapping things up, its a great moment to savour and I can only devote this achievment of 82% to God, Dad and Sir Subendhu.

First Real Exam at NIIT

Today is the day for our Module Test 1. The syllabus isn't too much, but the questions can be tricky. Hopefully, everything will go well and I'll get 100%. The 22 questions aren't worth an hour of solving, (atleast not for me). But, on the last Quiz, which I completed in 10 mins, I did make 4 mistakes. Although, I have found only 1 real mistake of mine. Thanks to the non-reviewable results. Anyways, I am pretty confident and am looking to top the charts in my class. Lets see! 3 hrs to go for the test.

Better than Expected

The presentation went better than I expected. The complement of 'Very Good' was something I couldn't have dreamt of. Thanks to Abhishek for his timely advice.

The seminar didn't go as I expected. Firstly, me getting a complement from Subendhu Sir, dumb speeches from the heavyweights- Devdeep, Saugat & Steffi, Excellent ones from Kunal & Kishan. It was a really good experience and I was awed by Gauri's intelligence in wanting to present at the very beggining. It gave me an early opportunity too and after his somewhat lack-lustre performance, my energetic work was well received. Oh! What a day.

I must mention the contrasting journeys on our way to and from NIIT. One with hardly any passengers and the other one with hardly any room to move.

Anyways, it was quite a day and I must thank God and all the others (Dad, Abhishek, Subendhu Sir) who helped me get through this important hurdle.

Just a few hours to go

The day is finally here. After hours of preparation it has come down to this. In about 4 hours I will be giving my first ever presentation. Nervousness is the predominant feeling, for no amount of practice in person can match the actual conditions. Just thinking about what could happen there, gives me shivers. The fear of failing is in plenty and only time will tell what will happen. I would like to get it done with at the very beginning. So the tension doesn't compound. But lets see what'll happen. Meanwhile, I have got to practice two more times.

First time Experience.

Its going to be my first time. I've never done anything like this before. Being as shy as I am doesn't help either. Nervousness and excitement are driving me crazy. I've decided I am gonna try to enjoy it. Our chemistry didn't start off instantly. But it was with time, as I got to know her, that I fell in love. And tomorrow, I am gonna embrace her and show my classmates how good I am. Hold your thoughts folks, She isn't who you think. Its the ISAS(Information Search & Analysis Skills) presentation that I and all my colleagues are scheduled to deliver tomorrow.

I think I am well prepared but I don't know whats going to happen in the heat of the moment.
